Myanmar army officials from battalion 131 based in Aley Yaung area and BGP officials from Young Chaung BGP camp including land department officials visited the agricultural lands belonging to Rohingyas of Aley Yaung village on December 5.
ource said to our correspondent, a group of armed officials from army and BGP including land department went to Alay Yaung (Ali Houng) Rohingya village and confiscated approximately 391 acres of cultivation lands where they put up red flags which means alert not to step on those lands.
Sources quoting the statement of the officials said, the government will set up an army cantonment on those lands.
Earlier, Myanmar authority illegally confiscated hundreds of thousands acres of agricultural lands belonging to Rohingyas in Rakhine (Arakan) state making the people financially crippled and landless.
Confiscating the Rohingya landless is one of the major systematic persecutions to force them fleeing the state to neighboring Bangladesh gradually, said a Rohingya activist.
Source further said, the Rohingyas were not allowed to harvest the paddy planted there by them (Rohingya). Now they are in horrifying situation and see no option to live there except fleeing to Bangladesh.
Therefore, the influx of Rohingya has still continued to flee to Bangladesh taking high risk of life on makeshift bamboo rafts.
Approximately 3000 Rohingyas have recently crossed nautical border on bamboo rafts as they don’t get boat and had been for weeks stranded along the sea beach inside Myanmar.
