A prominent Rohingya took his last breath in Balu khali of Bangladesh

Muhammad Yasin son of Abdu Shukkur, holding National Registration Card; AK- 073130, was born on 5th May, 1936 in Minglwet (Merulla) village tract of Southern of Maungdaw and expired at the age of 81 in Balu khali new makeshift camp in Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh at noon on 10th October, 2017.

Mr. Yasin had been serving many years for Socialist Republic of Burma. He worked as a township representative in the Township Socialist Council from 1968 to 1978. Later, he was promoted from township councilman to representative of Rakhine State Socialist Council. In 1986, he became chairperson of Township Cooperative of Maungdaw. With the operation NaSaKa, Border Guard Police against Rohingya in 1995, he was retired and lived with his son.

In the recent military operation, as his home burnt down by Myanmar army, he left the country and reached  Balu khali Camp of Bangladesh.
