A Rohingya boy was severely beaten to unconscious state in Taungpyo left, Northern Maungdaw on 20 April 2017.
Source said to correspondent, Shofi Ullah (17) son of Abdu Rahim is a water carrier by his profession to earn his livelihood.
There in the areas where he carries and sell water in Taungpyo left near the market live mostly Rakhine people and the government forces around.
On 20 April 2017, the boy went there to collect money of carrying water from the shopkeepers and other residing Rakhine people. There the boy was assaulted severely to unconscious.
Later, the boy was found on the ground in an unconscious state following the assault.
Initially, it was not possible to take statement from the victim to know who beat him as he was in an unconscious condition.
The victim was rushed to the nearby government clinic by his relatives where the doctor refused to receive the victim as the condition was critical.
Finally, the victim was taken to Cox’s Bazar private hospital in Bangladesh where the patient was conscious after one day of treatment.
Then he gave statement that he was assaulted by Rakhine people when he asked for wages of carrying water, source added.
