A poor Rohingya faces cruelty of village administrator in Rathedaung

A poor man has been assaulted by the village administrator Aung Soe and his associate Kefayat Ullah at Yanbingyi (Muzai) village tract of Rathedaung on 12 April 2017 for not collecting commission money for them from the poor Rohingya daliy.

The victim has been identified as Abdul Malek of Yanbingyi (Muzai) village of Rathedaung.

According to report, earlier the village administrator asked Malek for collecting Kyat 500 as commission money from per laborers who work under his control daily. But, Malek refused to collect commission money from the poor laborers.

At this, the administrator Aung Soe was furious and beat Malek severely. Later, the news of assaulting Malek by Aung Soe was published in the media.

Hearing the news regarding administrator in the media, he has been finding a way to take revenge on Malek since then again.

On 12 April 2017, the administrator again asked Malek to collect Kyat 500 from per laborer daily which was strictly rejected by Malek. Soon after refusal, the administrator and his accomplice Kefayat Ullah assaulted him as severely as they could to unconscious.

Villagers say the victim is still in a critical unconscious state and even may die soon following the serious beating by the cruel administrator and his accomplice.

He is unable to receive any treatment as a poor laborer was well where there is no government facility of treatment for Rohingya, source added.
