Rohingya patients assaulted, money snatched from them in Muangdaw

Maungdaw -Myanmar police assaulted two Rohingya patients and snatched their expenditure of treatment while they came from rural area in Maungdaw near the clock tower Sunday 26 March 2017.

The two Rohingya victims Hashim and his son Mohammed Hemalek hailed from Shilkali 40 miles far away from Maungdaw Township came for treatment from Dr. Kamal’s clinic.

Myanmar police arrested the father and his son near the Township’s clock tower andbeat them up mercilessly before many eyes alleged in not having the NVC to them.

The police beat them and at one stage they snatched away the money from the victims which they brought for treatment.

After beating and snatching Kyat 150, 000 from them, the police set them free. But the victims had no money for treatment and even bus fare to return to their homes, source said.
