A Rohingya man was severely assaulted by Border Guard Police of Zimmang Khali outpost while he was pushing a cart loaded with goods by the road on 14 March 2017.
According to source, a BGP sergeant accompanied by one of his member was coming on motorbike by the road while the man was also pushing a pushcart loaded with goods by the same road.
The sergeant and his force member stopped there and caught the Rohingya pushcart man saying that the pushcart man did not give them sideway. Then they started assaulting him indiscriminately.
However, the boy managed to flee away being free from their clutch of the BGP forces. They chased him but could not catch again.
At this, they went to the house of the victim in the village thrice in search of him but did not find. The BGP alleged that the victim had snatched something from the BGP forces and fled.
With this false allegation, they are still searching the victim everywhere in the village.
A Rohingya said, the BGP forces are increasing different forms of persecutions on the innocent Rohingya in Maungdaw North for which the residents are facing problems to survive.
