House gutted in Buthidaung North

A big house of Rohingya in Lambabil of Lawetdet Pozzun Chaung village, Buthidaung was gutted to ashes on 2 February 2017 at around 12.45 pm.

According to family source, the house was torched by some unknown people. All the house hold articles and properties worth more than Kyat 5 million were gutted in the fire.

The victim was identified as Hafez Abu Shama (Muhtem Shab) of Lambabil, Buthidaung.

The government should compensate the victim for lossing all the valuables but on the contrary the Buthidaung authority summoned the victim and extorted Kyat 2 million from him for gutting his house for which the victim expresses concerns over it.

The persons who set fire to the house could not be identified yet as the fire was set to the house at deep night of 2 February while the family members were deeply asleep.
